A Steamy Summer

Summer is dangerous, according to Steam and I wholeheartedly agree with them. Spending time outside in the sun can cause heat stroke, skin cancer or you might even become a victim of a mid-day alien abduction. That’s why Steam, being a concerned online game distributor, is having a huge sale right now (until July 4) in order to keep you guys entertained while inside the house.

As for me, Being a cheap nerd that I am, I’m really loving this sale. It’s not as big as their Holiday Sale but it’s good enough. I bought BioShock 2 for only $15 and Alpha Protocol -a RPG that’s been out for only a couple of weeks- for $34. There are plenty of other games too. But if you can’t decide, then here are a couple of games that I would recommend:

1. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut$7
This is a really awesome action RPG, and it’s one of my favorite games that came out during the last decade. The story is amazing -being it based on a dark fantasy novel- and the combat is amazing. I lost plenty of sleep on this one, and so should you! Especially now that a lot of bugs have been fixed and it will only cost you $7.

2. Indigo Prophecy$4
This game is the last adventure game I’ve played. But it is also one of the best. It has a great story, and there’s a sex scene too -if you’re into this kind of stuff. Plus, it’s only $4. You really can’t lose if you go with this game.

3. Space Rangers 2$5
This is a little nice indie strategy/RPG. The game’s pretty old school, graphics and gameplay wise. But really, really enjoyable. Some of the quest -which are text based- also requires you to solve mathematical problems, hard ones too. So if you’re looking for a challenge, then grab this game.

4. King’s Bounty: Gold Edition$10
This pack includes both King’s Bounty: The Legend and King’s Bounty: Armored Princess. King’s Bounty is a strategy RPG that plays a lot like Heroes of Might and Magic, in which you explore a map and recruit an army to accomplish your mission. It’s a pretty fun game. You can get King’s Bounty: Armored Princess for only $8 too, if you already have the first game or if $10 is just too steep for you.

5. Borderlands$23
This is an excellent shooter/RPG with an open sandbox world. It’s kinda like Diablo in a sense where you run around a map killing re-spawning critters, farming them for XP and loot. Except that this game is on first-person view and it has guns. Lots of guns. I know that the price is still a bit high, but this is an AAA game.

Well, these are my suggestions. But if you don’t see anything you like here, please go ahead and visit Steam’s website because there are a lot of games on sale. There’s bundled games too that will save you as much as $500. Also, try and visit the site everyday because they update their daily sales as well.

So, there you go. Tons of games for sale. No need for you guys to go out on the beach and risk being bitten by a shark or being swallowed by BP’s oil. Just stay inside your house,  play it safe, play games and have a steamy summer.
